Memphis Defense Base Act / Longshore Act Claims Lawyers

All of our partner attorneys are either named Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, or certified as Civil Trial Specialists and have more than 100 combined years of experience. At the Memphis, Tennessee, law firm of Godwin, Morris, Laurenzi & Bloomfield, P.C., we have the skill and experience to get you the recovery you need.

The Defense Based Act

This act basically incorporates the Longshore Act to include civilian employees working for the military or employees of defense contractors working overseas. It allows these workers to recover compensation from the military for their injuries.

The Longshore Workers Compensation Act

This set of laws is a lot like worker's compensation on the water, covering employees working on the water who are not technically crew members. When these employees are injured on the job, the Longshore Workers Act gives them the opportunity to recover compensation for the typical work-related injuries, including broken bones; back, neck and spinal injuries; lost limbs and anything else that results in medical bills or lost work.

The Defense Base Act and the Longshore Act are worker's compensation systems that provide compensation for medical costs for your injuries, and financial compensation for your injuries, regardless of who was at fault.

Your Attorneys Fighting for Your Claim

Almost immediately after your injury, the insurance companies and employers will be mounting their case against you to deny your claim. Either call our Shelby County office or contact us online. We have the experience to keep them from destroying your case during these early stages.

It's the same with almost all of our legal practice areas: the best way to get a case settled quickly and successfully is to prepare diligently and defend our clients aggressively right from the beginning.

No Attorney's Fees Unless We Win

We work on a contingency fee basis, which means that you do not pay our attorney's fees unless you recover damages. We also offer free consultations. Either call our office in Shelby County, overlooking the Mississippi, or contact us online.
