Paying attention to everything going on around you is vital when you are driving. This is especially true if you are traveling on a multi-lane road that has higher speeds. Accidents that happen on busy roads, such as interstates, can often have catastrophic results. A recent car accident on Interstate 40 in Tennessee claimed the life of three people and left six others with injuries.
The accident happened when an eastbound semi truck tried to pass a Toyota Tacoma that was in the right lane of the interstate. As the semi truck, which didn't have a trailer at the time, tried to pass, the Tacoma crossed into the lane in which the semi truck was driving.
Because of the impact of hitting the semi truck, the Tacoma spun and landed in a ditch after flipping over. The semi truck crossed the median and hit a Mercury Grand Marquis. That impact caused the Grand Marquis and the semi truck to overturn.
Three people in the Grand Marquis were killed in the car crash. Six people, including a child in the semi truck and a child in the Tacoma, were injured in the tragic crash.
This accident shows how one mistake while driving can lead to horrible consequences. Individuals who have been injured in an accident similar to this one might decide to seek compensation for their injuries. Wrongful death lawsuits could be filed on behalf of family members who are killed in an accident. Knowing your rights and responsibilities can help determine your course of action regarding seeking compensation for damage claims.
