Truck accident in Tennessee injures trooper and tow truck driver

by | May 9, 2014 | Truck Accidents

Paying attention to what is going on around you is a very important part of driving. If you don’t watch what you are doing, you can cause a serious accident that can hurt other people who are on the roadway. A recent truck accident in Tennessee shows how important it is to always be mindful while you drive.

The accident occurred on a portion of Interstate 24 that was down to one lane because of a previous accident. A tow truck driver and a state trooper were working the previous accident when they were hurt by the second accident.

The second accident occurred when a semi-truck driver tried to swerve because of a stopped vehicle. That driver ended up crashing into a car from the first accident. That car was pushed into the direction of the trooper, who was working outside of his vehicle at the time of the second accident. The tow truck driver was in the vehicle that was hit by the semi-truck.

Both the tow truck driver and the state trooper were taken to the hospital. The tow truck driver was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries thought to be non-life threatening. The state trooper was treated and released.

Accidents involving semi-trucks can be very serious. This state trooper and tow truck driver are lucky that they didn’t receive injuries that were life-threatening. Despite that fact, they might still have to miss work because of their injuries. Between that and the bills from the accident, the financial difficulty of the accident might be considerable.

Seeking compensation for damages might be possible for people involved in a Tennessee semi-truck accident. Knowing how to seek compensation might make the process easier.
