A three-car accident on a highway in Tennessee has caused the deaths of two citizens. The police believe that the first car ran into the second as it was pulled over on the side of the highway, causing a chain-reaction collision that involved yet another vehicle.
Authorities state that the car crash occurred on the morning of Oct. 25. It happened on eastbound I-240 in Memphis, on the east side of the Lamar Overpass. It is believed by authorities that a silver Kia had pulled over to the side in order to check on a tire that may have gone flat. It was at this point that a black Chevy Impala reportedly ran into the back of the Kia. The collision then forced the Impala into a Nissan Maxima, pushing it down an embankment.
The man driving the Kia was thrown from his vehicle in the wreck. Both the man and the driver of the Impala were killed. The people in the Maxima suffered only minor injuries.
Tennessee law has made provisions for those who have had harm done to them in an accident to seek financial compensation from those believed responsible for the incident. In the case of a fatality, a family may have lost the financial contributions that they could have counted on from their loved one, the loss of emotional support and other damages that may had come to occur as a result of the accident. A lawyer might help them formulate a wrongful death suit that takes all of these factors into account and requests appropriate compensation from the liable parties.
